Most people ask me how i do the non alcoholic versions of the cocktail recipes. For most recipes, just an exclusion of the vodka or alcoholic part of ingredients and Ou Là .. you have an amazing cocktail without the alcohol. I have a sweet tooth, for chocolate especially so for week 3, i thought it amazing to share the recipe for one of the most decadent drink , COFFEE COCKTAILS.
For this martini am sharing both alcoholic and non alcoholic recipes.

Oh my Lord!!! He finally did it..Leonardo Di Caprio FINALLY won himself an Oscar and actually broke the internet. We are all so excited for him and for that needs a cocktail. But first let me do my routine of red carpet reviews for Award shows.
The Oscar’s, personally have had the BEST red carpet entrees this award season. From the clean cut suave suits for the gents to the crystal embellished gowns from the ladies. This year has had more neutrals than most, with more of whites, greys and silvers and i just love it. My favorite has to be Priyanka Chopra’s sheer white Zuhair Murad gown and ofcourse Lady G’s Brandon Maxwell jumpsuit.
Then there were the block colours like the reds and blacks.. i loved Charlize Theron’s red greek goddess gown and also Olivia Munn’s one arm cape like Stella McCartney orange gown.
But my fave red carpet looks were definitely the couples below, plus i will add Leo’s look because its his day and he can be featured wherever he wants to be. 🙂 As usual my favourites are John Legend and his glowing wife, Chrissy Tiegen; Kevin Hart and Eniko Parrish; Lady G and Taylor Kinney and Sylvester Stallone and his wife, Jennifer Flavin.

I hope you had a beautiful mini holiday or weekend and back to grinding and doing your best. I started my cocktail series last week starting with my fave Ruby Red breeze. This week, am heating things up with one of the famous cocktails MARTINIS!!! Simple sophisticated and amazing even James Bond agrees.
Martinis originated from a little town called Martinez in San Francisco and has three major forms. A dry Martini is made with dry, white vermouth. By the 1920s, it became common to ask for them. Over the course of the century, the amount of vermouth steadily dropped. During the 1930s the ratio was 3:1, and during the 1940s the ratio was 4:1. During the latter part of the 20th century, 6:1, 8:1, 12:1, or even 50:1 or 100:1 Martinis became considered the norm. A dirty Martini contains a splash of olive brine or olive juice and is typically garnished with an olive. A perfect Martini uses equal amounts of sweet and dry vermouth.
So noow that we have covered abit of history, we can try one of the modern takes of the Martini drink… a PERFECT PEACH MARTINI.
What you need
2 ounces vanilla vodka
1 -ounce peach schnapps
2 ounces peach nectar
1/2 -ounce fresh lime juice
Peach slice, for garnish
Pour all ingredients into a shaker filled with ice, shake, and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with a peach slice.
I have a confession to make.. am a designated foodie by strength and food is life to me. I love trying different recipes and drinks because it feels like am a globe trotter through my taste buds. From the All American burger to Indian curries to Italian patisseries to the Sub Saharan matooke delicacy, i feel like i have travelled through cultures and it is truly one of my fave accomplishments. Just say the word FOOD and i will jump out of pyjamas and into Beyonce in a second. LOL!
So i came up with a food series for my blog and starting off with my fave cocktails. Each week, i will share with you the simplest recipes for the amazing and delectable drinks that are just great for an evening with family or friends to lay off and relax.
This week, we are making one of my fave red drinks.. RUBY RED BREEZE.
WHAT YOU NEED
1½ oz. Effen Cucumber Vodka
4 watermelon pieces cut in 1½ inch chunks
½ oz. lemon juice
¾ oz. simple syrup
½ oz. Cranberry
Garnish: watermelon wedge
To make simple syrup, mix equal parts hot water and sugar. Muddle watermelon and simple syrup in the bottom of a mixing glass until all of the fruit has turned into a juice. Add the rest of the ingredients to the glass and fill it with five large ice cubes. Shake and strain the cocktail into a rocks glass filled with ice which has been tipped in icing sugar or normal sugar. Garnish with a watermelon or lemon wedge.
So today marks four years of blogging and i must say i love it more each day that passes. Not only do i share my thoughts on fashion and living but it relaxes me. Funnily, this year, my anniversary has also fallen on Grammy week and i absolutely love it. This year, even though the actual show was a little drab for me, had so much more flowy cut out gowns than most years and alot of bright and bold colors.
I loved the above looks most but i must say my all time fave has to go to Ellie Goulding’s foxy blinged up back Stella McCartney dress and Chrissy Tiegen’s Yousef Al-Jasmi white goddess dress with the blinged up cape. These spoke sophistication and class and those are my fave character looks i want to see on a red carpet. Serayah also embraced glamour with her Vera Wang gown had the right cut outs and slit was graceful. My fave men’s looks have to go to Justin Bieber and French Montana this year because they were mature, clean cut and suave which i love seeing on red carpet.
On the down side, i did actually like Selena Gomez’ look, she does look as beautiful as always but i do feel like we have seen her in similar looks before. I did not like Ciara’s dress because it somehow looks like drapings for me, too much skin and not too much glamour for me. I was happy to see Faith Evans on the carpet and she looked nice but could definitely has done without the fur thing-y. Dencia’s pink essemble was just alittle cartoon-ish for me. Elle King’s Christian Siriano black dress, personally, had too much going on for me, lace, draping, fringes..just too much.
look through the gallery to see the looks.
