Whats Your Jam?

Well berry lips are the sexiest makeup this year as we have seen some hot stars rocking them. From Khloe Kardashian to Kat Graham and all in between. But that doesn’t mean you should slap on the first tube of black berry lipstick you find. Firstly, you have to pick your jam from raspberry, black berry to boysenberry but it all depends on your skin tone. If you have fair skin, choose something that’s dark but sheer which will keep you from looking like a character out of a Tim Burton film. Medium skin tones can get away with a richer, truer berry and those with dark skin should choose a deep color that won’t blend in with their skin. If you have thin lips, a dark lipstick could make them appear even smaller. So start with a sheer stain and use a lip pencil to fill out the lip ever so slightly but just don’t over do it. I used MAC Pro LongWear Lipcreme Berry for my lips.

Unless you want to look gothic, the key to wearing a berry lip is to keep the rest of the face fresh and glowing. Use a sheer foundation and concealer and skip powder entirely. Then apply a blush in a complementary shade. I used Revlon PhotoReady Milani foundation and Immaculate Complexion Concealer to give me a glowy look. For the eyes, a neutral eye shadow is key as it works well with plums and berry lips so think ivory, champagne, silver, taupe, ashy browns, charcoal, plum, etc. If your lipstick has red tones to it, gold and warm brown work great.

A darker lip can pale your complexion, so make sure to bring some radiance back into your face. Applying blush is a must. Pick a shade that compliments your lip and eye makeup. You might want to skip the neutral blush and go for something that will add a little color to your face, but keeping it natural so the attention will only be drawn to the lips. If your lipstick has a hint of red in it, or if it’s warm try a natural peach or bronze. I used a BareMinerals blush for my face to give it a rosy look.
Have fun with this look this weekend and rock it!

Flower Power

Well it might not be Spring but florals are still flourishing this year. They just add a pop of femininity and color to your favorite outfit. Stars from Jessica Alba to our favorite East Sider Blake Lively have been rocking the trend. Florals go from dresses to shorts to shoes! If you are still not sure how to rock it, here are a few tips and tricks from my bag of TnTs. Add a simple solid colored Tshirt or blouse, a denim cropped jacket and a pair of solid wedges to your fave pair of floral jeans for a simple chic look. For your fave floral dress, you can add tights for extra warmth this season, a knitted scarf and a cute pair of black or coffee brown ankle boots for a sexy but simple look. Don’t forget your fave shades, a cute panama hat to finish the look on a bright day. Enjoy the trend.

My Xmas 2013

So if it is any huge news, Christmas is my fave time of the year! No season makes me giddy and cheery like this one, t̶h̶e̶ ̶g̶i̶f̶t̶s̶ ̶m̶i̶g̶h̶t̶ ̶a̶d̶d̶ ̶o̶n̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶e̶x̶c̶i̶t̶e̶m̶e̶n̶t̶ BUT my favorite part of it is the quality family time, eating, laughing and sharing more memories. My second fave part is the shopping as most girls will agree. So i have gathered my top designs for my Christmas 2013. I just love the blacks, silver, reds, greens and not forgetting the lace, chiffon and velvet that grace us around this time. The biggest styles this year are the peplums, jersey, wrap, plaster and A-line. Don’t forget to add stockings, a structured blazer/ cropped jacket and a pair of your favorite ankle boots for that extra warmth during the chilly nights. So have fun shopping as will i.

Geek Chic

When i think of flashbacks, i think of the brights, glasses and lots of print. Being geeky came from being unmentionable to unbeatable, as long as it is done right, without looking like a unfashionable class clown. You can be cute and sexy by embracing your inner geekyness. The very first rule of Geek Chic is some really cute reading glasses (without the lenses ofcourse if you are not in need of eyeglasses) The bigger and thicker the frame, the better. Add cropped and fitted pants with some prints, with suspenders, to a cute buttoned up collar shirt. Contrast collars are so cute and chic plus adding a cute bow tie or men’s tie gives an extra umph. Add a pair of Mary Janes or Oxfords to your pair of printed pants or even dress. I love the look with shorts, as well. A cute striped cardigan or sweater with a slim belt adds a little sexy to your outfit. If you going for the skirt look, a pair of dotty or patterned knee high socks is very geek chic. For the hair, you can braid it or leave it out. Anything goes really. Have fun with the look.

Print the denim!

Who doesn’t love denim? I certainly adore and obsess over denim, so versatile and timeless; it should get a Hollywood Star of Fame on its own. So as years pass, more experiments are being done for denim from washouts to deconstructed pieces and my favorite for the season is Denim with African Print or Universal prints. I love this look because it can be both feminine and masculine.
Take your printed jeans out on the town with a nude camisole, tuxedo jacket, sparkly chandelier earrings, and some seriously sexy peep toe pumps for a sexy evening flare. If you’re looking to enhance the colors in the printed denim, try matching your accessories to it like the color of a bag or headband or even shoes. If you love mixed prints, you can pair the denim with polka dots or floral. For the guys, a beautifully cut jacket or pants can bring out the fashionista in you! But remember to just have fun with the look.

Toughen UP!!

So leather is BACK! and in such a huge way! Leather used to be a signature outfit for only bikers and bad boys but well, fashion evolves and so we can now happily wear it in all forms: from leggings to the simplest accessories. So here are a few tricks for my leather lovers. Picking one or two items to wear will not only ensure you look chic but comfortable as well so make sure you pick an item you are comfortable in so as not to look like you are forcing the look. Leather is tight and glossy so might be harder for curvy people to pull off so avoid leather leggings or pants if you have thicker legs and bustiers if you have a rounder tummy. I love incorporating leather with other materials so as not to look like Cat woman (w̶e̶l̶l̶ ̶u̶n̶l̶e̶s̶s̶ ̶H̶a̶l̶l̶o̶w̶e̶e̶n̶ ̶i̶s̶ ̶e̶v̶e̶r̶y̶d̶a̶y̶) so i love adding brights to leather to just give it a pop of color and a more laid back look. Also you can accessorize any outfit with leather by adding a cute ankle boot to your outfit. Leather cuffs and headbands also allow you to incorporate the trendy fabric into your wardrobe, and leather gloves work wonderfully as driving gloves. Have fun with the trend.
